Marsha Burns, and also Michael Burns, became mentors and friends over the years after I first saw some amazing prints at the Seattle Art museum, then found workshops they were teaching. Rather than focusing on digital printing as merely another way to reproduce her photography, she immediately saw the paper, inks, and scale as an opportunity to create new objects. We used multiple splits from warm to cool inks back and forth throughout this very limited high key scale to create and almost iridescent yet very subtle image on William Turner paper.

An impressive piece at the 35 x 46.75” size, with warm ink on German Etching paper.

I had the opportunity to reproduce one of Marsha earlier pieces, originally a 20 x 24 Polaroid print. Subtle warmish ink blend on German Etching.
