The Center For Maine Contempory Art will exhibit Lauren Henkin‘s work- “Second Nature” from August 28th to October 23rd. The opening reception will be on September 2nd, 5-8 pm. Lauren will give an artist talk about the work Sunday, September 25 at 4-6 pm.
This is a very involved exhibition with large color photography prints, silver prints, video, and installation pieces. More understanding of the project and it’s scope can be gained by visiting the Second Nature section of Lauren’s web site HERE.
My involvement began in the very early stages of the work to help explore process issues, film types, scanning and color editing practices, etc., followed by both transparency and color negative drum scans for the color work.
This exhibition is the impressive culmination of three years of intensive work.
I hope as many people as possible attend, and in fact we are traveling to Maine in September to see it ourselves.
